Revilla makes first public appearance in Bacoor today

IMUS CITY, Cavite – Former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla will attend the flag-raising ceremony on Monday, December 10, at Bacoor City Hall, the local public informatio­n office (PIO) confirmed on Sunday.

It will be Revilla’s virtual first official public appearance in his hometown since being acquitted by the Sandiganba­yan Friday from plunder charges.

Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla also confirmed the former senator’s attendance to the Monday flag ceremony at the sprawling city government center.

Thousands of department heads, employees and residents are expected to gather in the area to listen to Revilla’s public message.

Revilla was released 6 p.m. Friday from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame where he had been detained for more than four years.

Some friends and supporters waited on Friday night for the former senator at the Revilla family mansion on Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Panapaan VII.

Before going home in a convoy, Revilla and some family members went to a church and prayed.

Revilla was thankful to God, his family and supporters.

The former senator, the Bacoor mayor, their son Cavite Vice Governor Ramon Jolo Revilla, other children and relatives were jubilant as they were reunited at their own home.

Other informatio­n as to the Revillas’ activities and the itinerary for the week was not immediatel­y available.
