Defending champion Arellano and San Beda try to preserve their unbeaten records when they tackle separate rivals today in NCAA women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.

Both teams gun for their fifth straight triumph with the Lady Chiefs battling the Lyceum Lady Pirates at 2 p.m. and the Lady Red Spikers facing the Jose Rizal University (JRU) Lady Bombers at 12 noon.

Arellano’s strength lies on its offense after leading the spiking department, and coach Obet Javier hopes to fully utilize this with Necole Ebuen and Regine Arocha at the frontline.

But Lyceum is eager to return from back-toback defeats against University of Perpetual Help and San Beda to improve its 1-3 card.

In men’s play, San Beda (1-3) and JRU (1-3) seek to crawl out of the bottom of the standings when they meet at 10 a.m. while Arellano (3-1) aims for solo second in a 3:30 p.m. confrontation with Lyceum (1-3).

Southwoods teammates Yuto Katsuragawa (35), Aidric Chan (34) and Aguri Iwasaki (32). Junjun Plana did not count with 30.
