Sensual and smart

Toyota Motor Philippines kicks off the holiday season with the arrival of the all-new Toyota Camry. The full model change is built upon Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) and designed under the idea of “sensual-smart confidence.” First launched in 1983, this 2019 model serves as the Camry’s eighth generation, and hopes to further move the goalposts in terms of passenger comfort, performance, and safety features.

The use of Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) enhances its agility, stability, and visibility. It grants the car a lower center of gravity (combined with a new suspension system) for sharper response and handling. Strengthened ring structures around its body frame make the vehicle more stable and sturdy, especially at high speeds on undulating roads. It also features better visibility thanks to the lower instrument panel hood and cowl, and the window beltline.

The all-new Camry is characterized by styling that seamless melds the athletic accents in the sheet metal with a sleek and modern body shape to create an emotional design. Most notable are the two-piece front grille and the new character lines. The grille is flanks by LED headlamps with daytime running lamps, complemented by LED tail lights and dual exhaust pipes in the rear. Its body boasts of a low and wide stance to convey a more relaxed feel, accentuated further by a sweeping cabin and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside is an interior sculpted to exude the sensual-smart confidence design directive. Smart Entry and a Push Start System are key-linked with memory, automatically adjusting the driver’s seat and mirrors to one’s preference.

An Illuminated

Entry Sys- tem also welcomes all occupants into the sumptuous interior. Its seats padded and clad in smooth genuine leather. Both driver and passenger comfort are taken into consideration, evidenced by the three-zone automatic climate control, ample legroom, and one-touch power windows.

For the driver, there is are two large dials with a seven-inch multi-information display with Heads-Up Display technology. For the passenger, the rear seats reward with butterfly-type headrests, power recline and a capacitive touch panel to control the rear climate and sunshade.

Propelling the vehicle is a new 2.5-liter Dual VVT-i engine. Power runs through a six-speed automatic transmission with Drive Mode Select, that offers Sport and Eco modes. The transmission also features Upshift Control and Blipping Downshift Control, both activated in S mode to allow for a more engaging drive. To complete the sports car feeling, the Camry is fitted with a floor-mounted pedal.

Proof of Toyota’s priority for safety is in the Camry’s five-star ASEAN NCAP rating. This score was achieved with the help of seven airbags, ABS, Vehicle Stability Control, and Hill-Start Assist. The Camry is offered in V and G trim levels with Platinum White Pearl (+P15,000), Attitude Black Mica, and Thermalyte. Red Mica, Phantom Brown Metallic, Graphite Metallic, and Burning Black Crystal Shine Glass Flake are available on special order. The all-new Camry is now available in dealerships nationwide, starting at P1,806,000 for the 2.5G and P1,992,000 for the 2.5 G.
