CEBU CITY, Cebu – A local beauty queen was arrested by the police after she was caught selling imported marijuana during a buy bust in Cebu City at 2 a.m. Saturday.

Teri Marina Colmenares, 22, was caught by operatives of the Guadalupe Police Station in Cebu City, while attempting to sell high-grade marijuana in the parking lot of a commercial establishment in Escario Street in uptown Cebu City.

Recovered from Colmenares' possession were seven packs of high-grade marijuana worth P90,000.

Colmenares was a contestant in this year’s Binibining Cebu, representing the municipality of Carmen in Northern Cebu.

Sr. Insp. Dexter Basirgo, Guadalupe Police Station chief, said that Colmenares was arrested after they were tipped of her operations by a certain Nicole Allan Casiño.

Casiño was arrested in an earlier buy bust in Barangay Apas, Cebu City in which seven pieces of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) or acid, a party drug, were recovered from his possession.

During interrogation, Casiño identified Colmenares as his source.

Casiño even helped police by calling Colmenares' cellphone number so they can transact with her.

Basirgo and his anti-illegal drug enforcement team then set up the buy bust by texting Colmenares that they will be buying illegal drugs from her.

When Colmenares confirmed the transaction, Basirgo and his operatives then agreed to meet with her.

Colmenares was immediately arrested once the transaction was completed by the police.

Colmenares is currently detained at the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) headquarters at Camp Sotero Cabahug while Casiño is detained at the Guadalupe Police Station.
