13 slain, 83 arrested in Laguna police dragnet
CAMP P. RIZAL, Laguna – The Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) conducted a three-day Simultaneous AntiCriminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) that resulted in the death of 13 suspects and arrest of 83 law violators.
LPPO Director Sr. Supt Eleazar Matta said the operation was held December 13 to 15 as part of the LPPO’s relentless war against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality.
Among those arrested were 57 drug suspects, 20 wanted persons and six illegal gamblers. It also resulted in the confiscation of an approximate weight of 30.15 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of R111,600.
Armed encounters resulted in the death of 11 drug suspects, while two others were killed during hot pursuit operations following a robbery incident.
Matta added the LPPO’s 116 operations were made possible through the concerted efforts of the different units and stations, the diligent foot and mobile patrolling conducted separately which even led to the arrest of a drug suspect who was caught ‘in flagrante delicto’ or ‘in the act of’ sniffing suspected shabu.
The death of 11 drug suspects who are known as pushers and users during the Anti-Illegal Drugs Operations were recorded in Sta. Rosa City, Pila, Cabuyao City, Sta. Cruz, Biñan City, Nagcarlan, San Pedro City, Pagsanjan and in San Pablo City.
