Former Rizal solon Gilberto Duavit, 84

ANTIPOLO CITY – The remains of the late former 1st District Rep. Atty. Gilberto ‘Bibit’ M. Duavit, Sr. will be brought to the Ynares Center here on December 17, Monday.

Mayor Casimiro ‘Junjun’ Ynares, III, and his family have expressed their sympathy to the family of Duavit Sr., who passed away last Friday at the age of 84.

Ynares III, in his message posted on Facebook, has also expressed his gratitude to Duavit Sr.for his achievements for the city and the province.

The late former congressman of Rizal is survived by his wife Vilma Roy Duavit, and their children, GMA Network President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto Duavit Jr., Rizal Representative Michael John Duavit, and former GMA board member Judith Duavit Vasquez.

Other local government officials, including Rizal Governor Rebecca ‘Nini’ Ynares have also expressed their sympathies to the family of Duavit in their respective social media account page.

Duavit Sr.’s remains will be brought to Ynares Center here on Monday, from Heritage Park in Taguig City, to allow residents of the city and the municipalities to pay their last respects to the former congressman, who was also instrumental in the creation of the then municipality of Antipolo, into a city.

Public viewing at the Ynares Center will be from 1 p.m until 5 p.m. on December 17, Monday.

His remains will then be transferred to the Duavit residence in Binangonan at 6 p.m. on December 17 where it will stay until noon of December 19.
