Former Rizal solon Gilberto Duavit, 84

ANTIPOLO CITY – The remains of the late former 1st District Rep. Atty. Gilberto ‘Bibit’ M. Duavit, Sr. will be brought to the Ynares Center here on December 17, Monday.

Mayor Casimiro ‘Junjun’ Ynares, III, and his family have expressed their sympathy to the family of Duavit Sr., who passed away last Friday at the age of 84.

Ynares III, in his message posted on Facebook, has also expressed his gratitude to Duavit Sr.for his achievemen­ts for the city and the province.

The late former congressma­n of Rizal is survived by his wife Vilma Roy Duavit, and their children, GMA Network President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto Duavit Jr., Rizal Representa­tive Michael John Duavit, and former GMA board member Judith Duavit Vasquez.

Other local government officials, including Rizal Governor Rebecca ‘Nini’ Ynares have also expressed their sympathies to the family of Duavit in their respective social media account page.

Duavit Sr.’s remains will be brought to Ynares Center here on Monday, from Heritage Park in Taguig City, to allow residents of the city and the municipali­ties to pay their last respects to the former congressma­n, who was also instrument­al in the creation of the then municipali­ty of Antipolo, into a city.

Public viewing at the Ynares Center will be from 1 p.m until 5 p.m. on December 17, Monday.

His remains will then be transferre­d to the Duavit residence in Binangonan at 6 p.m. on December 17 where it will stay until noon of December 19.
