(The Arena, San Juan City) 4:15 p.m. – F2 Logistics vs Petron
All the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers needed was a little reminder to stay alive. Now they take matters into their own hands.
F2 forced a winner-take-all championship against Petron today in the 2018 Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the Mall of Asia Arena after claiming Game 2 of the finals, 2125, 25-19, 25-20, 25-17, Tuesday night.
The win was a far cry from their lethargic performance over the weekend when they lost the opener, 25-23, 25-11, 25-17.
“Coach (Ramil De Jesus) just reminded us of who we are, what we have endured and what we can still do,” said F2 Logistics skipper Cha Cruz-Behag in Filipino. “It gave us the confidence to move forward.”
Their Game 2 win not only inched them closer to dethroning Petron but also halted the Blaze Spikers’ imposing 13-game winning run. It also denied Petron a second title sweep.
“They were very emotional after that Game 1 loss. I told them that if I didn’t know them, I would have accepted that kind of performance in Game 1. But I know that they can do better than that,” said De Jesus in Filipino.
Petron coach Shaq Delos Santos, meanwhile, is optimistic that his players will rise to the challenge.
