FWD Insurance taps Globe for costeffective plug-and-play connection

-

insurer FWD Life Insurance, one of the country’s fastest-growing insurance companies, has tapped Globe Business, the enterprise information and communications technology (ICT) arm of Globe Telecom, to set up a secure, reliable, and cost-effective plug-and-play connection among their offices--even those located in remote areas using Globe Software DefinedWide Area Network (SD-WAN).

Through this partnership, FWD Insurance becomes the first financial service & insurance (FSI) company in the Philippines to be powered by a game-changing technology which would enable them to move better and expand faster using a data network that is affordable and easy to deploy.

Rogelio Umali, FWD Insurance Chief Technology Officer, shares the reason for FWD’s shift to SD-WAN: “Insurance companies would usually encounter multiple connectivity issues at their branch offices. Since insurance organizations are amongst those with the highest number of servicing locations compared to any industry, the difficulties related to setting up each location’s connectivity remains a challenge to any insurer.”

“Thankfully, the Globe Business team has stepped in and offered Globe SD-WAN which makes regional expansion easier and simpler for us. Through this service, FWD is now more confident to achieve maximum growth and reach an untapped market,” added Umali.

“Connectivity and the use of applica- tions are the lifeblood of every financial service company and other businesses today,” said Peter Maquera, Globe Business Senior Vice President. “Powering insurance operations to make transactions faster, safer, and more reliable will be beneficial to businesses and employees resulting in better efficiencies and higher productivity. That is what Globe SD-WAN brings to the table.”

Globe SD-WAN complements a company’s existing Wide Area Network (WAN) and Internet Protocol – Virtual Private Network (IP-VPN) connections. This capability lets enterprises adapt to relevant scenarios or address customers’ needs anytime. Companies can also experience optimal connectivity through automated re-routing of traffic across the most efficient routes and connections.

Companies can also re-route to SD-WAN non-mission critical activities such as video conferencing calls, emails, and live video streaming among others to free up bandwidth from the corporate data network. Moreover, Globe Telecom’s commitment to create intelligent cities and an internet superhighway is further manifested through its efforts to make Globe SDWAN available in the market.
