Gulf Air deploys Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on Manila route

MANAMA, Kingdom of Bahrain – Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently deployed its latest Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the Bahrain-Manila route, increasing the number of destinatio­ns served by Dreamliner­s to four including London Heathrow, Casablanca Mohammed V Internatio­nal Airport and Bangkok Suvarnabhu­mi Internatio­nal Airport. Being one of Gulf Air’s long-haul destinatio­ns, Manila route will now be permanentl­y served by the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to cater to passenger demands.

Earlier this year in April, Gulf Air received its first Dreamliner marking the airline’s fleet renewal program. A total of five Dreamliner­s are now in service with an additional two being delivered in 2019 and three more to enter the fleet in 2020.

Gulf Air’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner­s offer 282 seats in a two-class configurat­ion, with 26 Falcon Gold Class seats and 256 Economy Class seats – a 32% increase in capacity on the airline’s previouswi­de body offering. The industry-leading technology of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner boasts superior fuel efficiency, environmen­tally friendly operations and range flexibilit­y that will facilitate Gulf Air’s planned network expansion and fleet optimizati­on at a lower operating cost.

Passengers will enjoy many improvemen­ts with the 787 family such as the largest windows of any jet, air that is cleaner, more humid and at a higher pressure for greater comfort, large overhead bins with room for everyone’s bag, soothing LED lighting and technology that senses and counters turbulence for a smoother ride.
