NCAA volleyball returns from a twoweek holiday break with San Sebastian

seeking a share of second spot in the women’s division against Jose Rizal University (JRU) at The Arena in San Juan City.

Match is at 12 noon with the Lady Stags aiming for their fifth win in seven outings.

Cellar dwellers Mapua and Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) collide at 2 p.m. as both aim to end winless fortunes.

The Lady Cardinals tote a 0-5 record with their last defeat coming at the hands of the Lyceum Lady Pirates mid-last month, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20, while the Lady Generals bowed in their last six matches that included a 25-21, 25-8, 25-20 defeat to the JRU Lady Bombers on Dec. 18.

Meanwhile, San Sebastian coach Roger Gorayeb hopes the half-month respite will not dampen their fire burning in extending a two-game winning run – against EAC (25-19, 25-20, 25-17) and Letran (25-22, 25-16, 25-22) – as he leans on Nikka Dalisay and Joyce Sta. Rita slated to fuel their offense.

JRU, for its part, also wants to resume its title campaign on a bright note by climbing from the lower half of the standings. —
