MORE FILIPINOS TRAVELING TO HOLY LAND IN 2018

The Israel Ministry of Tourism welcomed the increase in the number of Filipinos who visited the holy land breaking its all-time high 2017 record of 23,500. More than 27,000 Filipinos have already visited Israel until Nov.2018 marking a growth of 25 percent from January to November vis-à-vis the same period last year as per statistics released by Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT).

Speaking about the growth, Director of Israel Ministry of Tourism Philippine­s, said, “2018 has been outstandin­g and by far the best year for Israel tourism in the Philippine­s and worldwide. By November, we already surpassed the 2017 Filipino tourist arrival in Israel.

Philippine­s has been an important market for us and I am pleased to say that we have witnessed a constant growth over the last 2 years.”

“Our initiative­s, including a series of roads hows in Manila and Davao, and a continuous talk with Philippine Airlines for the possible direct flight from Manila to Tel Aviv, I am confident that we will achieve the 30,000 by the end of the year or even surpass it,” he added.

With the recent historic visit of President

to Israel there has been a renewed interest among the Filipinos to visit the Holy land in all travel segments. Philippine passport holders can enjoy a visa-free access to Israel up to 90 days.
