19 druggies arrested in QC anti-crime ops

At least 19 drug suspects including two brothers were arrested by antinarcot­ics team in its simultaneo­us anticrimin­ality operations in Quezon City in the past 24 hours.

Members of the drug enforcemen­t unit of Quezon City Police Station 2 arrested brothers Roland Larsen, 51, and Ronald Larsen, 52, and their pal Bernard Hernandez, 41, during a drug sting on the corner of Camarines and Antique Streets in Barangay Ramon Magsaysay.

Anti-illegal drug personnel conducted the drug sting at around 4 p.m. Monday after receiving informatio­n that the younger Larsen was included in the Directorat­e for Intelligen­ce drug watchlist while, Hernandez was a newly-identified drug personalit­y.

Seized from the suspects were five sachets of shabu and the marked money.

Personnel of Talipapa Police Station (PS-3) arrested Juan Miguel, 18, and Dianne Sararana, 22, after officers recovered from them 10 sachets of shabu in a buy-bust at Durian St., Area 9-A, Brgy. Pasong Tamo around 1:25 a.m. Tuesday.

Meanwhile, members of Batasan Police Station (PS-6) anti-narcotics team arrested Michael Ongpauco, 18, and rescued a 16-year-old boy, at about 11:30 p.m. Monday along Capitol Drive corner Tandang Sora Avenue in Brgy. Old Balara.

Police report showed that patrolling officers saw the two men lighting cigarettes in a public place and were supposed to be accosted but they ran and eventually cornered.

When frisked, they yielded a sachet of dried marijuana leaves, a disposable lighter and a glass tube with strains of dried marijuana leaves.

Officers turned over the minor to the Social Services and Developmen­t Department of Quezon City.

Same operatives arrested in a buybust Adas Makalikod, 52, Carlito Acosta, 43, Tohame Ali, 18, Jay-ar Manguda, 21, and Linda Manguda, 52, all from Brgy. Holy Spirit.

Authoritie­s set a drug sting against the group at No. 17 AFP Road in Brgy. Holy Spirit around 4:30 p.m. Monday where 10 sachets of shabu were recovered from the suspects.

In Barangay Payatas, policemen from PS-6 also nabbed Mark Cervantes, 29, who was included in the police drug watchlist, and Josephine Besas, 38, following a buy-bust at Lupang Pangako, around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Confiscate­d from the duo were three sachets of shabu, two disposable lighters and the buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, the suspect identified as Paul Icasiano Jr., 45, a former drug surrendere­r, was arrested anew by personnel of Cubao Police Station (PS-7) during a drug sting at Aurora Boulevard corner Imperial St., Brgy. E. Rodriguez, Cubao around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday after police seized nine sachets of shabu in his possession.

Project 4 Police Station (PS-8) arrested Joselito Deniega, 22, Joshua Ventura, 21, and Shiela Mae Flores, 18, following a buy-bust at Pansol Avenue Barangay Pansol around 2 a.m., Tuesday.

Seized from the suspects were four sachets of shabu.

In Kamuning Police Station (PS-10), a drug suspect identified as Joseph Medina, 19, was arrested by anti-illegal drug operatives during a buy-bust at Monte de Piedad corner Sgt. Catolos, Brgy. Immaculate Concepcion at past 6 p.m., Monday.

Confiscate­d from him was a sachet of shabu.
