Iza Calzado tells Moira to not fret over her figure

-

Moira dela Torre, the top trending Filipino singer on Twitter, Facebook, and Spotify in 2018, may be excited over her wedding due in less than five days, but she’s also feeling wee jittery about weight issues.

Some days before her wedding, the millennial singer posted on Instagram, “Most days,

I like myself. But some days, I don’t. I have been recently stressing over my weight with the wedding coming in forty ++ days...

“I feel guilty I couldn’t seem to stick to a diet. Work’s been non-stop... it’s been hard to eat and sleep right. I feel almost sad at the thought my body is not the healthiest for my almost husband. But in all days, Jason (her fiance) stares at me the same way he did many pounds ago... reminding me over and ever that it’s okay... That my worth and beauty will never be defined by my weight... ”

Newlywed Iza Calzado uplifts Moira by telling her, “Know that your husband loves you for who you are, not just what you look like. More importantly, you are worthy of love whatever your size.

“To be honest, I experienced the same pressure. I wanted to look my best for the wedding and it was frustrating that my schedule was so busy I could hardly workout and lose weight as easily as I used to when I was younger. I then reminded myself that no matter what I look like, my husband is not marrying me based on how I look that day. He is marrying me for the person I am and all the wonderful things I am capable of doing.

“I then just let nature take its course and just ate healthy, exercised when I had the chance and took time out from work a week before, to ground and be centered. I went to The Farm for two nights to really pray and connect with God and nature so that I could be of healthy mind, body and spirit before walking down the aisle.”

Barely a month after becoming Mrs. Ben Wintle, Iza resumes her advocacy in helping women who are ashamed of their bodies, whatever size or shape it may be.

Together with her friends Sarah Meier, Lynn Pinugu, Vicky Herrera, Bianca Gonzalez, the actress put up an online community of women called “She Talks Asia” which aims to empower women to be confident, be proud of who they are inside and love themselves no matter how they look on the outside. Iza said: “#Thebodyloverevolution is a movement that my partners in She Talks Asia and I started. We wanted to create dialogue around Body Love and Self Love and eventually mounted a conference in September 2018.”

The actress-celebrity who now has 1.1 million followers (mostly women) on Instagram was quoted on her speech at the Body revolution conference, “Because of the standards set by beauty pageants and women I saw on TV shows and movies growing up, I felt like I was not enough. I had no self worth... I transformed my body from having a jeans size 42 to what I am now. “But what I am not proud of is how I went through deathdefying things just for me to look this way. From anorexia to starvation to bulimia to taking diet pills to cosmetic surgeries when I became an actress and exercise compulsion which pretty means I killed myself in the gym...

“I’m about to have children and the last thing I want is for my children to go through what I went through. Now that I am aware of all of this, I know that it must end with me.”
