Typhoon ‘Wutip’has slim chance of entering PAR

Typhoon Wutip (international name), which is brewing east of Mindanao, is still outside the country and has a slim chance of entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said.

In its weather update issued on Friday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Wutip was spotted off 2,400 kilometers east of Mindanao.

It packs a maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of 160 kilometers per hour and moving northwest at 15 kilometers per hour.

While PAGASA said that Wutip is not expected to enter PAR, the public are still advised to monitor weather updates should the track of the typhoon changes.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies and cold winds will prevail over most parts of the country, particularly in Luzon and Visayas due to northeasterly surface windflow.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will be experienced over Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, and on the provinces of Aurora and Quezon due to the wind flow.

It will also bring partly cloudy skies in Metro Manila and the rest of country which will persist on the next three days.

In Mindanao, residents will still experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned the public on possible flash floods during severe thunderstorms.

No gale warning was raised over coastal areas across the country but sea condition on the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough.

Coastal waters on the northern and eastern section of Luzon will be moderate while sea conditions on seaboards across the rest of the country will be slight to moderate.
