First Gen to supply power to ArthaLand BGC project

-

First Gen Corporation and ArthaLand Corporation have sealed a power supply agreement for the latter’s premium real estate property development in Fort Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. Lopez firm First Gen will be supplying the electricity requirements of the building via capacity generation from its Pantabangan-Masiway hydroelectric facility in Nueva Ecija. The parties-in-interest have not given details on the volume of contracted power for the Arthaland building, the cost of electricity purchased and the duration of their agreement. The ArthaLand venture in BGC will be its ArthaLand Century Pacific Tower (ACPT), which has been conceptualized and designed as a top-end green building development in the country. First Gen, on the other hand, has always been touted as “the greenest energy company” in the Philippines as its portfolio just comprises of the cleanest energy technologies – renewable energy like hydro, wind and solar; then gas on the fossil fuel side. In a statement to the media, ArthaLand noted that even at its construction phase, ACPT has already been a recipient of the “Best Green Development” and had also been conveyed the Best Office Architectural Design in the Philippine Property Awards. For many property developers in the country, “the green concept” is still a fledgling option – but these two companies consider themselves as ‘green building’ pioneers. (MMV)
