Big-time Zamboanga drug pusher yields R7.1-million shabu

ZAMBOANGA CIY – The drugs enforcemen­t unit of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) seized Thursday an estimated R7.1-million worth of illegal drugs from an alleged big time drug pusher in this city in a buy-bust operation.

Police Regional Office for Zamboanga peninsula (PRO-9) Director Chief Supt. Emmanuel Luis D. Licup disclosed the arrest of Ricky Hassan, who was collared in the buy-bust operation conducted at his residence in Wingo Drive, Pantano, Barangay . San Roque in this city at about 3 p.m., Thursday.

According to Licup, policemen confiscate­d from Hassan 21 large sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of R7.14 million.

This developed as the police also arrested Ronel Lim, alias. “Ronel," 36, married, and a resident of Navarro Court, Sta. Maria in this city.

Confiscate­d from him were 19 heatsealed transparen­t plastic sachet containing shabu with an estimated street value of R15,000 and two fragmentat­ion grenades, and two firearms.

In Ipil, Subugay province, two suspected drug pusher were arrested in a followup drug buy-bust operations, Thursday about 10 a.m.

Licup identified the arrested drug pushers as Hasim Lucas Samdani , 29, and a resident of Barangay Tenan in Ipil, Sibugay province; and Jay-ar Abbas Cuarto Cruz, 23, and a resident of Barangay. Lapaz in Naga town also in Sibugay province.

Recovered from them were five large, two medium and three small sachets of shabu estimated to weight 180 grams.

According to Licup Samdani and Cuarto Cruz were said to be associates of Ben Hazer Anduhol, Nicanel Maningo, and Benjamin Calon Hassan alias Solaiman Calon, all residents of Tenan in Ipil whom the police arrested Wednesday and confiscate­d from their possession about 1.5 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P10.2 million.

The suspects will be charge for violation of Republic Act 9165 while the evidence recovered were turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory for examinatio­n.

Licup said he has ordered the police in the region to step up their campaign against the proliferat­ion of the prohibited drugs in their respective areas.
