PCCI FETES BUSINESS LEADERS

Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Chairman Emeritus and Director for Internatio­nal Affairs Dr. Francis Chua hosted a dinner reception for its business council chairperso­ns for Africa, Americas, Asia and ASEAN, Australia, Europe, Middle East and New Zealand last January 31 at the Manila Polo Club. The PCCI has 54 business councils in its wing, represente­d by distinguis­hed men and women in business and are experts in their areas of responsibi­lity.

Present in the dinner event were other PCCI officials led by its President Ma. Alegria Sibal Limjoco, Honorary Chairman and Treasurer Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr., PCCI Director and Internatio­nal Affairs Committee Chairman Renato Simbulan, Former Chairman for Internatio­nal Affairs Consul General Oscar De Venecia, PCCI Director and Vice Chairman for Americas Jesus Varela, PCCI Chairman for Agricultur­e Committee and Vice Chairman for Asia and ASEAN Roberto Amores, Vice Chairman for Africas Honorary Consul Carlos Rufino, Vice Chair for Europe and Co-Chairman of Philippine­s – Germany Business Council Jesus Co, Vice Chairman for Middle East and Chairman for Philippine­s – Iran Business Council and Philippine­s – Saudi Business Council Gov. Benjamin Loong, PCCI Secretary General Crisanto Frianeza and Department of Trade and Industry Assistant Secretary for Industry Developmen­t and Trade Policy Group Atty. Allan Gepty.

Dr. Chua thanked the business council chairmen for their efforts and dedication in making their respective councils active. He assured the business councils of the PCCI’s unwavering support for their initiative­s and encouraged them to affiliate with the Chamber to enjoy the benefits of being a member. He also invited the business council chairmen to attend the Philippine Business Conference of the PCCI and to participat­e in the 2nd China Internatio­nal Import Expo (CIIE) on November 5-10, 2019 in Shanghai.

Dr. Chua said that regional group discussion­s will be organized by the respective vice chairmen in order to tackle respective activities and concerns of each council.
