Good friends Nadine Lustre and Sam Concepcion are like other people when they take a pause from their work schedules.

They attend parties, hang out with friends, and go on unplanned trips and vacations. But for the majority of their “free time,” they express their creativity through music.

In an interview, Nadine said an album is in the works for her. It will be released under her boyfriend, James Reid’s, own record label Careless Music.

“I promised myself I will start performing my own songs from now instead of doing covers,” the “St4y Up” singer said.

Admitting that she’s been busy with other things in the past weeks, Nadine is “regaining” her “creativity” being the executive producer of some of their music videos.

“I need to be focused. I need inspiration,” she said, adding she will seek

the help of James’ best friend, Bret Jackson. “That’s because James will be busy with his own projects.”

Nadine is happy Careless Music has expanded its reach, gaining fans and listeners from all over the globe.

On the other hand, Sam had just released the most anticipated remake of “Ikot-Ikot.”

The song, composed by Thyro Alfaro, was popularized by Sarah Geronimo in 2013.

His version is stripped, almost acoustic.

“It’s become a slow song and I did a lot of dancing in there,” he said of its music video. More projects

Nadine and Sam have teamed up for the upcoming dance musical movie “Indak,” and shooting is underway.

Directed by Paul Basinillo, the film is inspired by the hit Hollywood movies “La La Land” and “Step Up.” This only means that the two stars will be doing a lot of competitive level dance routines.

“I’m very excited to do that,” Sam said. “Fans could expect a lot of production numbers here. This film is mainly about passion and doing something you really love. A good project, really.”

Nadine added they went on rigorous dance training as part of their preparations.

The 25-year-old feels blessed with the success of her last film “Ulan.”

“I’m just really happy especially for Direk Irene (Villamor). I keep thanking her because I consider it a big break for me. Also, everyone still supported it despite that James is not my leading man there,” she said.

Speaking of her boyfriend, Nadine hinted they will have a project together soon.

Since its summer, many wonder about her secret to staying fit.

“I’ve actually stopped working out,” she admitted. “I stopped dieting now and I haven’t been eating properly.” If that’s the case, what is it then? “I guess it’s all about giving yourself the right amount of sleep?” she smiled.
