Rogue cops sabotaging...

“Ilalabas ko ‘yung dokumento bukas. Iyong paano maglaro ang pulis sa droga, ‘yung mga opisyal; at bakit hindi mahinto-hinto (I will release the documents tomorrow which will show how these cops are linked to illegal drugs – the officials – and why we cannot stop the drug trade),” Duterte said Tuesday evening.

“Bakit naman ‘yung mga pulis noon naka-assign sa anti-drugs hanggang ngayon sa anti-drugs pa rin. Kaya pinaglalaruan ang Pilipino (Why are the police officers in the anti-drugs division still there. They are making a fool of the Filipinos),” he added.

He admitted that he could not control the illegal drug trade in the country, even if drug personalities were getting killed during operations.

In his speech during the proclamation rally of PDP-Laban in Malabon City, Duterte said the role of some cops in the drug trade is what is causing his campaign against the illegal substance to fail.

Duterte also said he is hoping that the information obtained since former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald dela Rosa's time would be helpful to lawmakers.

The President denied claims that police officers are being paid by the government to kill drug suspects. He said that he has nothing to do with the involvement of cops in the illegal drug trade.

"Pati ako idinawit na may inutusan daw ako ng 5 million para patayin ‘yung... P ***** i** bakit ako magbayad ng 15 million? Trabaho ninyo ‘yan (They are even saying that I ordered someone to kill for 15 million. Son of a bitch, why would I pay 15 million? That's your job)," Duterte said.

"Kaya mabuti ‘yan nauna – ilalabas ko kung – ‘pag magpa-interview ako. Ilabas ko ‘yung tunay na istorya. Hindi ako sumasali (That's why it's better for me to say what I know now. I will tell the real story. I am not involved in their shenanigans)," he added.

Duterte in 2017 immediately denied the report of Amnesty International that cops are being paid 18,000 to 115,000 per kill. The report said that no cash incentives were given for arrests made.

The President explained that millions of intelligence funds are being used for police anti-drug operations but said they were used by undercover cops for their buy-bust operations.

Duterte said that the funds were likely being pocketed by corrupt police.

In 2017, several police officers were linked in the killing of South Korean businessman Jee Ick-joo inside the premises of Camp Crame. This prompted Duterte to dissolve all anti-illegal drugs group of the PNP.

Early this year, Duterte said the drug situation in the country has worsened. Malacañang explained that Duterte was referring to the amount of drugs being smuggled into the country.
