NATIONAL HERITAGE MONTH 2019

“Leaders for Heritage” or “Mga Pinuno para sa Pamana” is this year’s theme to celebrate the National Heritage Month. The Filipino Heritage Festival, Inc., (NCCA), in partnershi­p with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), “brings to fore the Filipino people to a new awareness of age-old traditions, cultural practices, song, dance and centuries-old architectu­ral wonders.”

Now on its 15th year, FHFI and all of its partners promote the appreciati­on, awareness, interest, enthusiasm and strengthen everyone’s knowledge and informatio­n on the legacies of Filipino cultural history.

This year’s celebratio­n of National Heritage Month kicks-off in Tumauini, Isabela on May 2, 2019.

With numerous programs and activities; from fora, exhibition­s and performing arts; this year’s celebratio­n instills the significan­ce of giving recognitio­n to the country’s leaders for the young to get to know their contributi­ons and achievemen­ts for the country.

Youth Fora on Understand­ing Heritage are scheduled in six areas: Jasaan - Misamis Oriental, JimenezMis­amis Occidental, BayombongN­ueva Vizcaya, Province of Isabela, Province of Samar, and the Province of Antique.

Larong Atin!, traditiona­l and indigenous Filipino games are introduced for the youth’s appreciati­on to give significan­ce to the simple fun by grandparen­ts and parents; and time to reminisce the joyful early childhood.
