NATIONAL HERITAGE MONTH 2019
“Leaders for Heritage” or “Mga Pinuno para sa Pamana” is this year’s theme to celebrate the National Heritage Month. The Filipino Heritage Festival, Inc., (NCCA), in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), “brings to fore the Filipino people to a new awareness of age-old traditions, cultural practices, song, dance and centuries-old architectural wonders.”
Now on its 15th year, FHFI and all of its partners promote the appreciation, awareness, interest, enthusiasm and strengthen everyone’s knowledge and information on the legacies of Filipino cultural history.
This year’s celebration of National Heritage Month kicks-off in Tumauini, Isabela on May 2, 2019.
With numerous programs and activities; from fora, exhibitions and performing arts; this year’s celebration instills the significance of giving recognition to the country’s leaders for the young to get to know their contributions and achievements for the country.
Youth Fora on Understanding Heritage are scheduled in six areas: Jasaan - Misamis Oriental, JimenezMisamis Occidental, BayombongNueva Vizcaya, Province of Isabela, Province of Samar, and the Province of Antique.
Larong Atin!, traditional and indigenous Filipino games are introduced for the youth’s appreciation to give significance to the simple fun by grandparents and parents; and time to reminisce the joyful early childhood.
