Duterte tells drug offenders to buy memorial plans

- By GENALYN D. KABILING

Drug offenders should consider buying memorial plans since the long arm of the law will soon catch up with them, President Duterte said recently.

The President urged drug offenders and their cohorts in government to plan ahead for their funeral service amid his threat to finish them off during his remaining years in office.

“Aabutin ko rin kayo. Maniwala kayo [I will catch up with you. Believe me],” he said during the PDP-Laban campaign rally in Batangas last Wednesday.

“Kung meron pang lote dito sa mga memorial ninyo, magbili na kayo. Mas mura pa ngayon. Bukas mas mahal na ‘yan. O ‘yung sa punerarya, pwede ka man rin. ‘Yung St. Peter’s plan [If there are still memorial lots, better buy now

while it is still cheaper. It will be more expensive tomorrow. You can also get funeral service from St. Peter’s plan],” he added.

Unfazed by criticisms on alleged human rights abuses, Duterte said he will not hesitate to kill those who destroy the country with the proliferation of illegal drugs.

As a worker of the government, he stressed that his job was to protect the people and preserve the country.

“P ***** i** ninyo [Son of a b*tch] do not destroy my country. Do not feed shabu to our daughters and sons because if they lose their life, parang patay na, basag, for all intents and purposes, inutil na ‘yan [they are inutile],” he said.

“Do not do it because I will not hesitate. Human rights sabihin ko p **** i** papatayin ko talaga pati kayo kasali. [Human rights, son of a b*tch, I will also kill you],” he added.

The President also warned anew government officials, including mayors and barangay officials, who connive with drug syndicates. He claimed that erring public servants would be next on his target list.

“Mamamatay rin kayo. Huwag kayo mag-alaala. Susunod kayo. Eh talaga. Itaga mo ‘yan sa bato [You will die. Don’t worry, you will be next. Mark my word],” he said.

“Maniwala ka maaabutan ko rin kayo. May three years pa ako. Ubusin ko talaga kayong lahat para wala ng problema ‘yung next generation. Prangkaprangka tayo [Believe me, I will catch up with you. I still have three years. I will finish off all of you so the next generation won’t have any problem. Let’s be frank],” he added.
