- By ELLALYN DE VERA-RUIZ

The public satisfaction rating of Vice President Leni Robredo has improved to “good” in the first quarter of 2019 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey results.

In the nationwide survey conducted last March 28-31 among 1,440 respondents, SWS found that 63 percent were satisfied and 21 percent were dissatisfied with the performance of Vice President Robredo.

In the same survey, 71 percent of Filipinos are satisfied and 10 percent dissatisfied with Senate President Vicente Sotto III, 29 percent satisfied and 46 percent dissatisfied with Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and 34 percent satisfied and 20 per

cent dissatisfied with Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin.

The resulting net satisfaction ratings were a “very good” +61 for Sotto, a “poor” -17 for Macapagal-Arroyo, and a “moderate” +14 for Bersamin.

The Senate President’s net satisfaction rating stayed at very good +61 between December 2018 and March 2019.

The steady net satisfaction rating of Sotto was due to increases of three points in Mindanao and two points in the rest of Luzon, combined with a 10-point decline in Metro Manila and a steady score in Visayas.

SWS attributed the increase in the Vice President’s overall net satisfaction rating to increases of 26 points in the rest of Luzon (from +20 in December to +46 in March), 17 points in Visayas (from +48 to +65), and two points in Mindanao (from +31 to +33), combined with a twopoint decline in Metro Manila (from +16 to +14).

Compared to December 2018, Robredo’s net satisfaction rating rose across all basic socio-demographics except among the 18-24 year olds.

By class, net satisfaction with the Vice President rose by three grades from neutral to very good in upperto-middle class ABC, up by 65 points from net zero in December to +65 in March.

It also improved from moderate to good in class D, or the “masa,” up by 13 points from +26 in December to +39 in March; from good to very good in the poorest class E, up by four points from +46 to +50.
