Crisologo rues inadequate medical services for poor Quezon City folk

- By BEN R. ROSARIO

Despite hosting government-run specialty hospitals and the most modern private medical centers, full medical services and attention remain inaccessible to many poor Quezon City residents, First District Rep. Vincent “Bingbong” Crisologo lamented.

In a bid to address the situation, Crisologo has forged an alliance with the Anakalusugan Partylist that will help the city government push for health and wellness issues in Congress.

The veteran congressman said a common legislative agenda for better health services for city residents will be pursued in the city council and the House of Representatives.

Crisologo is the official PDP-Laban mayoral bet in Quezon City endorsed by President Duterte.

The lawmaker’s program of government has continued to draw supporters to his camp.

In a statement issued after conducting a poll survey, the political think tank The Issues and Advocacy Center (The Center) noted Crisologo’s growing popularity among Quezon City voters, particularly among the youth and the C-D class in the city.

The Center said city residents have raised serious points against political dynasty and the “spike in real estate taxes that jacked up fair market values by an astronomical 500 percent.”

According to the Center, the imposition of taxes and fees on churches and properties owned by religious organizations and graft and corruption were also raised as major concerns of survey respondents.

Crisologo thanked the people of Quezon City for the steadfast support as well as all the candidates under his slate, including Anakalusugan, the sole party-list group they are carrying for the May 13 midterm elections.

“I now appeal to all my supporters: I need all my local candidates to effect real changes in Quezon City. I need Anakalusugan Party-list so that we have a partner in Congress who will push for our health agenda. Every vote counts if we are to usher in a new era of prosperity in Quezon City,” Crisologo stated.
