At the recent annual charity fashion event held at the Rizal ballroom of the Makati Shangri-la, Helen along with vice chairman Dr. Jimmy
Laya and event chairperson Ofie Wadle presented their successful fund-raising show with fashion, fun, and glam.
Host Johnny Litton announced
the start of the program with an awards ceremony, and the awardees were presented with trophies in recognition of their contribution to art and culture.
The 15 Cultural Enrichment awardees were Betty Ang, Cecille Asprec, Danda Buhain, Joy Ejercito, Marissa Fenton, Maru Go, Lynette Guzman, Crystal Jacinto, Malou Martinez, Anna Moncupa, Merci Padolina, Imelda Pechera, Shirley Sobremonte, Ma. Francesca Tan, and Prescy Yulo.
The SCEI members, fashion plates themselves, expressed their excitement to model the beautiful and exceptional creations of haute couture designer Jun Escario, who commanded center stage with his “Season’s” fashion show. The Pariseducated Jun received a standing ovation with his dramatic lines and silhouettes that caught the eye of the well-heeled crowd. Always a crowd pleaser was Lord of the Scents Joel
Cruz who modelled with his children. The other members of the committee were vice president Agnes Huibonhoa, Len Olbes, Bo Muralla, Marian Ong, Eni Alba, and Sheree Chua. Beneficiaries were the Sayaw Foundation‘s dance scholars as well as a program to expose culture and art to public school teachers, and the Philippine Cancer Society for the purchase of the cryotherapy machine.
