GMA News gets high honors at Tubular Labs’ VideoAces Awards

-

GMA NEWS emerged as the top news organization in the Philippines in terms of online video viewership at the recent VideoAces Awards by analytics firm Tubular Labs.

Based from their data released annually, GMA News made waves online in 2018 — getting 1.2 billion views on Facebook, 1.1 billion on YouTube, and 8.1 billion viewers on Instagram, thus, becoming the number 1 local media creator on social video, based on 2018 cross-platform social video views.

Worldwide, GMA News secured the 17th place among News & Politics Media Creators. The list was topped by various international news outlets such as ABC News, CNN, and Daily Mail.

“Our online viewership is a reflection of our commitment to Serbisyong Totoo, the hallmark of GMA News and Public Affairs, which remains true for any platform — from television to online,” said GMA Senior Vice President for News and Public Affairs Marissa L. Flores.

“This award will inspire our digital team to continue bringing the most important and engaging news to Filipinos here and abroad, directly to their device of choice,” said GMA Network Assistant Vice President for News and Public Affairs Digital Media Jaemark Tordecilla.

Among the current slate of digital efforts of GMA News and Public Affairs are “#GMAnewsfeed,” a live Facebook newscast; “FYI With Richard Heydarian,” “Ask Away: The GMA News Q&A,” “Magtanong Kay Mang Tani,” “DigiDokyu,” “#RealTalk,” “Conversations@GMANews,” and the “YouScoop Asks” series for Eleksyon 2019, where senatorial candidates answer tough questions from citizen journalists.

GMA News and Public Affairs is bringing the future of online news via “Stand For Truth” – an all-new digital newscast streamed on GMA News Online and the GMA News Public Affairs’ YouTube page weeknights at 8.
