Guevarra dares ‘Bikoy’ to file complaint
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has dared the man claiming to be “Bikoy” to file a complaint against the family of President Duterte over allegations that they are involved in the illegal drugs trade.
Guevarra made the call after Peter Joemel Advincula surfaced on Monday claiming to be the person Bikoy in the viral videos “Ang Totoong Narcolist.”
“This guy who says that he is ‘Bikoy’ should now go to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and file his complaint, if he has sufficient evidence against members of the first family,” said the Secretary.
The NBI already has in custody Rodel Jayme who has been charged yesterday (May 7) before the Parañaque City Regional Trial Court (RTC) for inciting to sedition in relation to his involvement in the propagation of the videos.
In the videos, the hooded Bikoy claimed to be a former member of a drug syndicate and has personal knowledge about the involvement of Duterte’s family and former aide, senatorial bet Christopher “Bong” Go, in the illegal drugs trade.
During a press conference at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), Advincula said he is willing to testify before the Senate about his allegations.
“Handa po ako humarap sa ano mang imbestigasyon ng Senado upang patotohanan ang lahat ng inilabas ko sa video serye (I am ready to face the Senate to testify what I have revealed in the video series),” he said.
Apart from personal knowledge, Advincula claims he has concrete evidence to back his allegations.
He also assured he is not affiliated with any political party and does not know Jayme.
Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo has cast doubt on the integrity and credibility of Advincula amid his criminal background, saying the “fraudster” seemed to be part of a conspiracy to discredit President Duterte and his family.
“There are strong indications that Advincula is not alone but is just being used by a personality in conspiracy with others bent on destroying the reputation of the Duterte family and tarnishing the image of the President,” Panelo said.
Panelo also dismissed the allegations raised by Advincula, saying this was part of continuing “saga of the black propaganda” against the President and his family.
He said the Philippine National Police (PNP) was still unearthing information that would “bolster the fraud perpetrated by this unscrupulous person.”
Panelo likewise raised concern about the criminal background of Advincula, citing he was previously convicted of illegal recruitment, large scale estafa, and theft.
