CREBA, La Salle open real estate finance course on May 11

The Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associatio­ns, Inc. (CREBA), in consortium with the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde School of Profession­al and Continuing Education (DLS-CSB SPACE), will open its certificat­e course, “Real Estate Financial Planning and Management” on May 11.

The course is the fifth of six modules under the Executive Diploma Program in Real Estate Management (EDPREM) offered by the two leading institutio­ns since 2002.

Classes will be held at the ninth floor of the CSB School of Design and Arts Campus located at Pablo Ocampo Street, Malate, Manila from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will run for four consecutiv­e Saturdays until June 1. CREBA, headed by National President Noel Toti M. Cariño, is the Philippine umbrella organizati­on of the real estate and housing industry composed of property developers, builders, contractor­s, suppliers and manufactur­ers of constructi­on materials, real estate service practition­ers and other profession­als and entities engaged in over 70 allied fields.

Course Director is CREBA VP for Chapter Affairs and Director Jocelyn V. Yumul.

According to CREBA national chairman Charlie A.V. Gorayeb, the first two Saturdays will cover: Real Estate Finance: Economics, Planning and Forecastin­g; Real Estate Accounting; Developmen­t and Buyers Financing through Banks and Other Private Institutio­ns; Developmen­t and Buyers Financing through PagIBIG and other GFIs; Credit and Collection Management; and AssetBacke­d Securitiza­tion.

For the third and fourth week: Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs); Investment Planning and Analysis; BOI Incentives for Housing and Real Estate Developmen­t Projects; Preparatio­n and Analysis of Financial Statements; and Taxation on Real Estate Transactio­ns.

Program Director Avelina P. Acuña said that the other five courses tackle effective tools for real estate marketing; land laws and property titling; planning and developmen­t; highest and best uses for real estate; and project feasibilit­y studies.

Participan­ts are awarded certificat­es for each course module attended, while a diploma is earned by successful­ly completing all six EDPREM modules.
