7 suspects nabbed in 24-hour anti-illegal drugs operations
Seven drug suspects, including two siblings, were nabbed in separate antiillegal drug operations in Quezon City within 24 hours.
First to fall in the drug bust conducted by personnel of Quezon City Police District’s Masambong Police Station (PS-2) were Jennifer Maickel, 32, and her brother Gerardo Maickel, 26, on Pampanga Street in Barangay Sto. Cristo around 5:40 p.m., Friday.
Police said the siblings were both included in the drug watchlist of PNP’s Directorate for Intelligence and were involved in illegal drug peddling in their area.
Seized from them were four sachets of shabu worth a mobile phone used in their transactions and the buybust money.
The same operatives from PS-2 also arrested in a separate buy-bust operation Albert Samaritana, 30, of Caloocan City and Victor Martinez, 54, of Barangay Ramon Magsaysay who were both newly identified drug personalities of the station.
Members of PS-2 Drug Enforcement Unit transacted with the duo in front of a house at Nueva Ecija Street in Barangay Ramon Magsaysay around 8:40 p.m. and confiscated from them three sachets of shabu resulting in their arrest.
In another buy-bust in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, PS-2 anti-narcotics authorities also nabbed Cristina Moreno, 53, and Ann Ting, 25, at Road 11 Street around 8:15 p.m. after yielding two sachets of shabu.
The arrest of the two women stemmed from a report of a concerned citizen who tipped police off their illegal drug activity.
Further investigation showed that Moreno was included in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watchlist while Ting is a newly identified drug personality.
Meanwhile, personnel of Kamuning Police Station (PS-10) collared Nigel Rayven, 34, in a drug sting along Kamuning Road near corner Scout Ybardolaza at about 3 a.m. Saturday.
Officers confiscated from Rayven two sachets of shabu and the buy-bust money which led to his arrest.
The suspects are now under police custody and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
