Monsta Xperforms on ‘Ellen’ show
K-pop boy band Monsta X performed for the first time on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” singing two songs.
The boys, who were in Manila for the Cosmic Celebration last Sept. 7, sang “Oh My” and “Who Do U Love?” to a live audience.
Show host Ellen DeGeneres introduced Monsta X as “one of the biggest K-pop boy bands in the world.”
“Oh My” is from Monsta X’s 2018 album “Take.1 Are You There?” while “Who Do U Love?” featuring French Montana was released last June and which they performed on ABC’s “Good Morning America” last August.
Monsta X released recently their new song “Love U” and a remix of “Who Do U Love?” by will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas.
According to the boys’ media reps, the original version of “Who Do U Love?” has garnered 22 million streams and has been rising in the Top 40 Radio, making Monsta X as “only the second K-Pop group ever to enter the Top 40 Airplay Chart.”
The idol group recently performed at the Fremont Stage of Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas on Sept. 21, the first male K-pop group to perform at a major music festival in the US. They also performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival that day.
Monsta X was announced as new ambassadors of TogetherBand, which champions the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, “a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030,” according to the UN Development Programme.
The boy band supports Goal 16 on Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, according to the TogetherBand website.
