Angel Locsin has revealed “The General’s Daughter” could be her last TV series for some time, especially as she will soon become wife to businessman Neil Arce.
“Hindi ko pa sure. Depende ’yan sa mga tao, sa management, paguusapan din namin kung ano ang plano namin. Baka po talaga (eto na ang huli), ayoko magsalita nang tapos pero
posible,” she said.
Angel intends to focus on wedding preparations when the show ends few days from now. This includes giving extra attention to her health. Recall that the actress sustained injuries from doing action scenes on another series.
“So siguro kung saan ako nagko-concentrate ngayon after ‘The General’s Daughter,’ ayusin ko muna ’yung health ko ulit. Sa dami ng mga binagsak ko so magpapagaling ho ulit ako,” she said. “Ayusin ko po ’yung kasal
ko. I think ’yun ’yung mas malaking challenge, mas mahirap po
na challenge na papasukin ko. At good luck na lang po talaga sakin.”
At the finale press conference of the series, the actress said the cast members have become so close to each other that they consider themselves “family” even after the show ends. Angel went on to say she’s willing to work for one week “free” on another project as long it is with the same set of actors.
It was revealed in the interviews that though the scenes on
“The General’s Daughter” are often “intense,” there’s easygoing vibe once the cameras stop rolling. Some of Angel’s co-stars even said they will miss the food she brings to the set, which they end up eating themselves as the actress is known to be “super generous.” Since it started airing January 2019, the action-packed series has kept its throne as one of the most-watched Kapamilya shows. In fact, it even topped the ratings game at one point, past “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” also produced by Dreamscape Entertainment. Ever the humble person, Angel downplayed the achievement, saying whatever success “The General’s Daughter” has is a product of teamwork. She also said that since their show comes right after “Ang Probinsyano,” it is likely many continue to watch, thus, benefitting her show.
Asked why they are ending “The General’s Daughter,” ABS-CBN executive Deo Endrinal said they want to quit while ahead, and so as not to compromise the quality of the story. “The General’s Daughter” also made noise in other parts of the region. Asia Today, one of the world’s top 20 Asian websites, recently featured the actress and her show. The show consistently tops Twitter trends.
The female-focused action-drama series, about a soldier whose life goal is to murder her own father, also airs regularly in Myanmar.
