New Music Night features future OPM stars

-

VIVA RECORDS held its first-ever New Music Night recently at The Music Hall at Metrowalk.

The featured artists were Mikee Misalucha, Joshua Feliciano, Avon Rosales, Sofia, Caleb Santos, and Marion Aunor.

Sofia is the daughter of ’80s singer Cristina Gonzales, who had a fan-favorite song in the neo R&B-flavored song “Pikit Mata” from two years ago. Her new song is “Wala

Na,” a pop track written by Vanessa Mendoza also signals a new start for

Sofia as she opts to go by her first name only for screen name.

Joshua started writing songs at age 13. He has released several singles as well as the debut album “Ligaw” in 2018. His latest pop ballad, “Paano Ba,” is about turning shy in expressing feelings when in love. Actress-singer Avon keeps churning out inspirational songs. After the pop rock-tinged “Hawak,” comes the sweet “Until Now” about finding reassurance in love. Mikee may be a new face in the music scene but her last name gives her away: She is the grandchild of no less than Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha! Mikee’s first song is the pop track “Unlove You.” Caleb’s niche is pop-rock ballads. His hit “I Need You More Today,” released in 2017, was in the original soundtrack of hit movie “100 Tula Para Kay Stella.” His latest song is “A Chance To Love Again.” Marion’s recent hits are “Akala” and “Delikado” also from hit movies. Her new song “Paasa” is a power pop number that includes Marion’s trademarks — catchy wordplays and memorable choruses. The song is a straightforward story about people who lead others on.

All the new songs debuted on Spotify’s New Music Friday.
