Dennis Trillo crosses over to ABS-CBN only for horror movie

- By REGINA MAE PARUNGAO

Network talents are usually not allowed to do projects outside their base, well, unless if you’re in the league of Dennis Trillo.

The actor, who’s been doing projects with the Kapuso network since 2002, is cast in Star Cinema’s upcoming horror film “Hellcome Home.”

The last time Dennis worked under the Kapamilya banner was in 2015. That was for Regal Films’ “You’re Still The One” distributed by Star Cinema, the film outfit of ABS-CBN.

Dennis’ co-stars in “Hellcome Home” are Raymond Bagatsing, Teejay Marquez, Alyssa Muhlach, Gillian Vicencio, and Beauty Gonzalez, among others.

According to a release, the movie is about two families that both want a peaceful home away from all the outside noise. However, it seems they can’t escape their inner chaos. Upon settling in, their dream home becomes a nightmare from hell as things happen — sound and whispers too uncanny to ignore, strange shadows lurking at every corner, and tresspassers bearing offerings. Both families experience horrifying phenomena that are eerily parallel.

Dennis was asked if he feels pressured to match the box-office success of Kapuso stars Alden Richards and Dingdong Dantes who’ve starred in their own respective ABS-CBN films.

“Wala naman pong pressure,” he said.

What matters to him is the quality of the project.

Doing a horror film was quite the challenge for the 38-yearold star.

“Hellcome Home” will be in cinemas nationwide starting Oct. 30.
