Sub-R900k GAC GS3 unveiled in the Philippine­s

Legado Motors Inc., exclusive distributo­r of GAC cars, hopes to disrupt the highly competitiv­e subcompact SUV segment with its latest offering, the GS3.

The GS3 is a modern subcompact crossover that has been well-received in many countries and markets across the globe since its launch in China in November 2018. It features design, specificat­ions, and features that surpass expectatio­ns in its class.

The GS3 features eye-catching design integratin­g the brand’s Flying Dynamics design language. It’s most evident in the façade, taking inspiratio­n from an eagle in flight, and is intended to evoke a sense of elegance and majesty from those that see it in motion. The is translated to the rest of the exterior with classic chrome elements combined with sporty, aerodynami­c design.

Inside, the GS3 boasts of a cockpit experience enhanced by the premium leather and fabric lining of its interiors. Digital convenienc­es, such as a state-of-the-art infotainme­nt system that integrates an eight-inch TFT color display with Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivi­ty, make it just as tech savvy as its competitor­s.

Designed to return performanc­e both in the city and long drive, the GS3 is offered in two gasoline variants: a 150N variant with a 1.5-liter, DCVVT engine that produces 113hp and 150Nm, and a 200T variant with a 1.3-liter turbocharg­ed DCVVT engine rated to make 136hp and 202Nm. Both are paired with a six-speed automatic transmissi­on and compliant with Euro 5 emissions standards.

As for safety, the GS3 boasts of a fivestar rating thanks to features like elecPhilip­pines, tronic stability control, anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distributi­on (EBD), traction control system (TCS), hydraulic brake assist (HBA), hill-start hold control (HHC), hill descent control (HDC) and electronic parking brake with auto-hold.

With GAC’s goal of providing value for money, smart features and worldclass design packaged competitiv­ely, the GS3 is set to disrupt the passenger car market.

The GS3’s entry-level 150N variant is priced at P888,000 while the premium 200T variant is priced at P1,058,000.

GAC Motor dealership­s in the Philippine­s are located at Metrowalk, Pasig City; San Fernando, Pampanga; and Tarlac City, Tarlac. More dealership­s are soon to open in Alabang, Muntinlupa City; Imus, Cavite; and Mandaue City, Cebu.
