COLOR IN EVERY STEP Melissa celebrates its four-decade legacy, reimagining the classics with kaleidoscope vision
In the movie The Wizard of Oz, we saw a dramatic change of mood from the sad and drab Kansas to the technicolor world of Oz after just one hurricane. From that scene, we can definitely say that colors are instant mood boosters. A splash of yellow can brighten your rainy day, a hint of pink on the cheeks instantly makes you beautifully rosy, red can fire up your passion, and soft blue can easily put you into Zen.
Why live a life in black and white when you have a rainbow to choose from? That’s what Melissa wants to bring to the wardrobe—a dose of fun, brightly-hued footwear that is timeless and durable
Celebrating 40 years of bringing the perfect fit for every woman’s feet, Melissa is an iconic brand offering many firsts, from designer collaborations
and to unique use of materials, making it a household name and a cult favorite across the globe.

soles, the Brazilian footwear brand is launching its “Color Me” collection. An ode to the transformative power of color, the collection features the classic Melissa shoes throughout the years in reimagined colors and contemporary styles. The “Color Me” collection taps into new emotions aiming to bring forward the unique you in a spectrum of colors.
Included in the collection are the Melissa Com Pochete, a reissue of their Mary Jane flat shoes and bumbag originally launched in 1990; Melissa Model, which features full plastic straps and a vibrant color palette; Star in Love’s classic-shaped, sneaker-like structure; and the futuristic sneaker of the 2000s, the Melissa Speed.
The “Color Me” collection also marks a new beginning for the brand. For the first time, Melissa will be joining forces with global fashion brand and retailer Opening Ceremony to rework some of Melissa’s three memorable silhouettes. The collaboration features The Hatch, which is fashioned with fisherman netting and trusty straps, The Ladii, a geometric lowheeled mule, and The Flipp, a classic doublestrap slide.
“I think Melissa is transitioning into a path that is inclusive, something that will cater to everyone,” says brand manager of Melissa Shoes Philippines. “It’s now genderless, it’s ageless. We try to connect with people and, for this new collection, we want everyone to find their unique self in many different shades.”
