₱1.3-M shabu seized in Bacolod
BACOLOD CITY — Six persons were arrested in separate buybust operations in Negros island from Nov. 11 to 12, for the seizure of ₱1,375,000 worth of suspected shabu. The biggest drug recovery in the past two days was conducted in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental last Tuesday, which resulted in the arrest of Regi Calugcugan of Brgy. East Balabag, Valencia town.
Recovered by police from Calugcugan were 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 150 grams worth ₱1,020,000, the ₱1,000 marked money, ₱1,200 cash, and drug paraphernalia.
Lt. Col. Wilfredo Alarcon, city police chief, said the suspect is a provincial level high value target because of the volume of drugs recovered from him during the operation.
In Negros Occidental, Richard
Valenzuela, 40, of Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City was arrested at the said village last Tuesday, for possession of nine sachets of suspected shabu worth ₱120,000, drug paraphernalia, and the ₱1,000 marked money.
In Bacolod, Jenny Rose Jimena, and Jared Ascura were arrested at Brgy. 2 that day after police seized from them seven sachets of suspected shabu worth ₱35,000, and the ₱500 marked money.
Both suspects are detained at Police Station 8.
Also arrested at Brgy. Mansilingan here last Monday were Mark Justin Espino, 23, of the said village, and Jim Morrisson Solis, 27, of Brgy. Alijis, after police recovered from them eight sachets of suspected shabu worth ₱200,000, the ₱500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
The two suspects are detained at Police Station 7.
Drug charges are being prepared against all the arrested suspects.
