Hermès’ pursuit of dreams this year continues with an autumn/winter collection for menswear that jolts the cool blues of the season with the unexpected, energetic warmth of dragons, and the newest textiles and techniques in silhouettes that are at once current, futuristic, yet truly timeless.

The autumn/winter collection suggests a man with exacting standards and sophistication, yet subtle, unostentatious tastes. He is drawn to lines that are clean and precise, yet unconventional. The paradox of his outerwear desires are a reality this season, by the rounded shoulder on a voluminous zipped parka, barely structured shoulder on a doublebreasted cashmere coat, or a mink jacket, emblematic of the house, minksin worked on both sides and features a hooded sweatshirt shape and zip and button details. All a perfect combination of work on the material and the reinterpretation of forms, made current by unexpected urban touches.

The “Ex-Libris Dragon” features as a lambskin patch detail crewneck sweater in cotton jersey, in the Bolide 1923, the large Plume bag, and a pin on a pinstripe lapel.

A hooded jacket with 3D pockets is made from water-repellent Cosmos canvas, with an interior finish of metallic silver material from Korea.

The Hermès man is in constant motion—more so this season—on his two feet in trousers whether made in shantung silk or patinated calfskin.

On his feet, utilitarian boots with a polish. The Vassili lace-up ankle boot in calfskin with ghillies detail is refreshed with a color-block sole in navy

Blue is the season’s key color: Prussian blue, navy and indigo variants. A clever mix of blues is featured in a zip jacket with interrupted graphic stripes is knitted in an elegant two-ply cashmere using the intarsia technique, which allows for complex motifs to be created without increasing the thickness of the knit.
