Megaworld designs with nature and not against it in new property development
Transforming an area into an entirely new development is almost synonymous to leveling everything, leaving the space with barely anything, like a blank canvas ready for an artist’s paint.
That’s not the case for Megaworld’s new project, though.
Called Arden Botanical Village, the property giant’s latest development in Trece Martires, Cavite hopes to show that building residential areas with nature, not against it, is possible.
Covering 18.1 out of the 251 hectares of the Arden Biological Estate, the integrated lifestyle community township will be home to 329 highend residential lots ranging from 280 to 609 square meters. The former is a joint development of Megaworld and subsidiary brand, Global Estate Resorts, Inc. (GERI), and is dubbed as a sustainable estate. About P18 billion will be invested in the next 10 years for its further development.
Not only does the village mark Megaworld’s first upscale residential village in the area, it is also the first time they’re letting a landscape architect do the exclusively gated development’s master planning.
“Arden Botanical Village will be built around the natural features that thrive in the estate, providing purposeful, livable spaces for its residents,” says Eugene Lozano, first vice president for sales and marketing of Megaworld, on the village that is expected for completion in 2024.
“Because the location is naturally gifted with greeneries that couldn’t be found in any other residential villages, we want to preserve and highlight them in our development.”
Turning this vision into reality is world-renowned Filipino landscape architect Paulo Alcazaren. He happens to be an environmental planner, too, which makes it possible to incorporate sustainability in the property’s design.
“We found that the best way to develop this area and that is to work with what you already have. The framework of the development is already there such as trees and bodies of water in the area,” Alcazaren says. “What we looked at in designing the community is to build around and with nature.”
A key feature inside the Arden Botanical Village is the Centrera Park, an area filled with groves of trees, lush greeneries, natural waterways and ponds, open spaces, as well as promenades and parks.
Also part of this massive park is the village’s clubhouse, which will be home to amenities exclusive for residents and their guests.
Megaworld takes inspiration from Scandinavian architecture which is known for clean lines. It is the design inspiration for its thematic bridges, landscaped walkways, bike lanes, interactive water features, and houses.
Meanwhile, a natural swimming pool will be part of the amenities and village landscape, which is a trend taking over European neighborhoods.
“Future residents will find themselves enjoying quiet moments with nature around the village, promoting not just physical wellness, but also improves social and mind wellness,” Lozano says. “This residential development’s suburban charm and unique landscape make it a perfect setting for personal retreat even for generations to come.”
