Millennial holiday gift ideas for new moms

- DENICE DAILY DENICE SY MUNEZ

When I was approaching my third trimester, my husband and I started getting worried about whether or not we would be prepared when our little one pops out. We had acquired a checklist of newborn baby must-haves from friends that we religiously followed, even some stuff

I’ve never even heard about before motherhood: From a steam steriliser, a bottle warmer, a nasal suction device, an electronic thermometer, to breast pumps and breast pads, among many others.

Aside from these newborn baby essentials, when I finally gave birth, my friends and family offered different products to help me feel like prepregnancy Denice. Every new mom should take their time to adjust and lose the pregnancy weight, but it doesn’t hurt to be pampered simultaneously and to indulge in treatments that expedite the process. These gift ideas include basic baby merchandise with a millennial feature that appeals to the modern mom, plus some products to help boost the new mama’s confidence and feel like herself again. Everything in this list are either stuff I have personally tried or are highly recommended by loved ones. MOMMY GIFTS TO HELP TAKE CARE OF HER BABY

1. Multipurpose feeding bottle

The Hegen feeding bottle is my go-to baby bottle for a number of reasons. First, the teat is super soft ellipticalshaped silicone, mimicking the natural breast of mothers and avoiding nipple confusion. The teat is also off-center and positioned asymmetrically. It enables a natural upright feeding position that reduces the need to tilt that traditional baby bottles require. The bottle design is also a soft square and ergonomically shaped for babies to hold and prevent it from rolling away. For breastfeeding moms, the shape also ensures no drop of milk is wasted, and is great for use to store products aside from breast milk. The material is freezer safe and also allows interchangeable feeding teat and storage lids. The bottles can easily be converted into breast milk storage without transfer of milk. Follow @hegen.philippines for more details.

2. Formula-mixing baby bottle

I was informed about the Mixie Baby’s “FormulaMixing” Baby Bottle recently when I started mixed feeding my son. So far, Mixie is the only brand that can be prepared and fixed now, then mixed later. The bottle includes two parts: One air-tight compartment for the milk powder, and the other part to be filled with water. Simply press the button at the bottom of the bottle and shake to mix the powder with water once baby is hungry and ready to be fed. Mixie Baby is available on Lazada.

Everything on this list are either stuff I have personally tried or are highly recommended by loved ones.

3. Lightweight and foldable stroller

The gb Pockit Compact Stroller is literally the stroller every mom needs. I got this as a gift, and love how light it is and easily packed into a large tote bag. The smallest stroller they have available is a maximum of only 14 inches wide, and weighs about 9.5 pounds. It can be packed or expanded within seconds. gb Pockit is available on Lazada.

4. Adjustable belly and hip girdle

Wink girdles are most effective in helping C-section moms recover and relieve pain through compression. This simultaneously enables wearers to compress and shrink belly and hips. Most effective when used immediately after delivery, and consistently in the next three months postpartum. The hooks on the girdle are comfortable and allow the user to tighten or loosen as necessary. Wink girdles are available from local distributor, UrbanEssentials.com

5. Non-invasive slimming treatment

I availed a service called “Slender Slim Plus” that uses a combination of ultrasonic cavitation to break down fat cells and radio frequency to tighten skin. Results can be seen after as early as six sessions, and best paired with a healthy diet. I felt my belly soften immediately with two consecutive weekly sessions. I tried the treatment from @AprilAestheticClinic in Valenzuela City.

6. Facial and wellness service

Skinhouse Beauty and Laser Clinic’s Madonna Oxylight Facial is my favorite facial to date. It is a six-in-one treatment that includes diamond dermabrasion, lymphatic cleansing, high pressure oxygen spray, ultrasound sapphire, myolight ELD, and a full spectrum panel. It’s named after Madonna because the procedure is relaxing with no downtime because there’s no pricking, and it’s the awardwinning singer/performer’s favorite treatment, to prepare for big Hollywood events. What a nice selling point, right? They recommend this treatment for dull skin that needs rejuvenating. @skinhouselaser has three branches in BGC, Pasig, and Quezon City.

7. Home service massage

I was treated to a postnatal home service massage from Recovery Mode MNL (@recoverymodemnl on Instagram) a month after giving birth. From their bestselling relaxing massages to deep tissue services, all their therapists are very professional, highlytrained, and effective in delivering quality for all types of massages under their services portfolio. They are extremely reasonably priced and currently offer gift certificates to give to friends and family.
