Casa Bella opens luxe flagship store

For homemakers and designers, finding furniture providers with a shared vision when it comes to putting together a home is always a welcome convenience.

It’s this passion in creating beautiful spaces that Casa Bella hopes to share with its newlyopened flagship store along Jupiter Street in Makati.

This two-story building houses the luxury furniture distributor’s many brands for the past 10 years, which includes seven European brands: Cattelan Italia, Kettal, Moroso, Cassina, Novamobili, Henge, and Ditre Italia.

This wide selection of chairs, couches, tables, cabinets, lighting fixtures, and accent pieces is all for one purpose—to help clients beautify their home. Launching a flagship store enables the brand to do this.

“Furniture is bulky and it needs space so it just, at some point, made sense to provide the space for it,” Joseph Tay, owner and cofounder of Casa Bella, tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “The evolution of the business requires the brand to have its own home.”

This new space also marks the retailer’s 10th anniversary, starting with just one brand.

“[All of] it didn’t come randomly,” he says. “It was a very long process of finding out what works for the market and what works for us.”

They don't only focus on the design but also the compelling narratives behind every item.

This, according to Tay, sets them apart from the rest.

“Our furniture pieces are luxurious and design-oriented,” he says. “In Casa Bella, a sofa is not just a sofa. A chair is not just a chair. There’s history and a story in every piece, and in every brand that we work with which we find interesting.”

Marketing these pieces well to its target audience has also proven effective for Casa Bella over the last decade.

“We choose brands because it resonates with our own philosophy,” he says. “We work hard in our relations with clients and explain why they should have this very special kind of furniture, in its kind of design.”

Tay says Casa Bella is not so much about selling, but more about serving.

“We serve the customers by getting the pieces that we’re hoping that will work with their homes, and that architects and designers will want to work with.”

Tay, together with his wife who is also brand co-founder, Stephanie Coyuito-Tay, execute this by forming an excellent team to work with.

“They have to be hardworking, talented, intelligent, able to socially connect with the people we’re building houses with such as the architects and designers,” he says. “The clients who come here can expect a team that’s thoughtful of what they would like and appreciate.”

All actions and decisions all boil down to what matters most to the brand owners— passion for design.

‘Our furniture pieces are luxurious and design-oriented. In Casa Bella, a sofa is not just a sofa. A chair is not just a chair. There's history and a story in every piece, and in every brand that we work with.’
