Faced with mounting criticisms from fans, YG Entertainment issued its official statement regarding K-pop group BLACKPINK’s comeback and full-length album.

BLINKS (BLACKPINK fans) have been demanding the agency to give attention to BLACKPINK’s career from solo projects, comeback album, activities on TV in South Korea, their krst full album and more activities on social media including YouTube, Twitter and Instagram.

BLACKPINK made their debut in 2016 but up to now, they have not released a full-length album in Korea. Their last mini-album was “Kill This Love” released in April 2019.

Last May 14, Korean BLINKS parked a minitruck in front of YG Entertainment’s building in Seoul with the message “We strongly ask for BLACKPINK’s two comebacks a year along with the members’ solo album projects, which you promised them and us a long time ago. We demand you to upload regular videos online as well as to take necessary actions against malicious comments,” SBS Star reported.

The English hashtag #NO_More_Lies_YG trended worldwide on Twitter that day as fans aired their frustration with the agency.

On May 18, YG Entertainment knally released a statement about “BLACKPINK’s plans this year.”

“We are planning to release BLACKPINK’s krst official album in September,” the agency said.

“After long hours of work, we’ve completed recording over 10 tracks of BLACKPINK’s new songs, which compose BLACKPINK’s krst official album.”

Before this, BLACKPINK will release two singles in June, and July or August, the agency said.

“BLACKPINK’s krst beginning in 2020 will be releasing the pre-release title in June. The group is currently almost done on preparing for visual shooting and choreography practice. The second plan is to release the second single on a special format in either July or August. Please understand that we can’t speak of details at this moment,” YG Entertainment said.

As to the full-length album, the agency noted that “as we’ve prepared for this album for a long time, we will release contents in 3 different terms so that the group will get opportunities to visit the fans with more contents and performances.”

On May 29, Lady Gaga will release her album “Chromatica” featuring BLACKPINK in the track “Sour Candy.”

“YG Entertainment will run global projects with Universal Music, the biggest music label on the planet, for BLACKPINK’s leap into the global market,” the agency said.
