Hino rolls out all-new FL 10-wheeler truck Adapting to new logistical needs

- By IÑIGO S. ROCES

Hino aims to keep the country moving with the launch of the newest addition to its 500 series of mediumduty trucks, the all-new Hino FL 10wheeler.

Unveiled in a Facebook livestream launch by Hino Motors Philippines (HMP), exclusive distributor of Hino trucks and buses, the all-new Hino FL 10-wheeler truck is a medium-duty truck with improved safety and comfort, superior reliability and optimum fuel economy. The FL 10-wheeler truck is designed to cater to the various trucking and logistics needs of Filipinos nationwide.

Powerful performance

The new Hino 500 truck, called the FL8J, supports a load capacity of up to 18,620-kg and a total gross vehicle weight of 26,000-kg. It is powered by the Hino J08E, a six-cylinder, Euro 4-compliant engine that delivers 280-PS and 824-Nm of torque. This is paired to a nine-speed manual transmission system, allowing it to reach maximum speed of 108 kph at 2,600rpm maximum engine speed.

Its semi-elliptical leaf springs on both the front and the rear side. It’s also capable of a 40.4 percent gradeability at full load capacity.

Improved safety and comfort Besides performance, the FL also comes with several comfort and safety improvements. Bringing it to a stop are full-air dual circuit brakes with anti-lock braking system (ABS), featuring leading and trailing shoe brake system with auto brake shoe adjuster and air operated spring brake to assist during parking.

The truck is built with Hino’s Easy

Start (ES) technology, which allows the driver to start rolling on steep inclines by maintaining a braking force as he moves his foot from the brake to the accelerator. This system prevents the truck from rolling backward. ES technology also reduces driver fatigue, negating the need to rest his feet on the brake pedals. The system automatically releases the brakes once the clutch is engaged. The ES feature operates in both forward and reverse gears, reducing stress on the brakes and clutch while improving driver comfort and safety. It also equates to savings down the line by minimizing maintenance costs.

The FL also provides a smooth and safe ride for the driver with its easyto-adjust seat suspension system, designed to provide more comfort and help prevent back injuries. The truck is also fitted with air conditioning, power windows, and ergonomic doors handles for the driver’s comfort, performance and productivity.
