Almost 16 M enrollees – DepEd
As the month-long enrollment period ended yesterday, June 30, the Department of Education (DepEd) said that at least 16 million learners in both public and private schools have enrolled for the upcoming School Year (SY) 2020-2021.
DepEd national enrollment data showed that as of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, the total number of enrollees for SY 20202021 has reached 15,907,786 nationwide for Kindergarten to Grade 12, including Alternative Learning System (ALS) and non-graded learners with disabilities.
Current data showed that 15,222,315 learners have enrolled in public schools and 672, 403 registered in private schools.
The national enrollment data covers public and private schools as well as State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) and learners across all basic education level including Kindergarten, Elementary or Grades 1 to 6, Junior High School (JHS) or Grades 7 to 10, and Senior High School (SHS) or Grades 11 and 12. Also included are non-graded learners with disabilities and those under the ALS program.
Based on DepEd’s latest data, Elementary level has the highest number of enrollment with 7,869,514 followed by JHS with 5,008,475; SHS with 1,723,704; and Kinder with 1,002,275. There are also 187,923 learners enrolled under the ALS program and 43,923 learners with disabilities.
Across all regions, Region IV-A has the highest number of enrollees with 2, 319, 130 followed by National Capital Region (NCR) with 1, 791, 495 and Region III with 1, 783, 715.
