P&A Grant Thornton’s education support program gets recognition
P&A Grant Thornton has been recognized as a leading learning provider in delivering global quality education and support for its students.
P&A Grant Thornton, one of the country’s leading accounting and consulting firms, was awarded as the first Corporate Silver Learning Partner (LP) of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the Philippines. ACCA is a globally recognized organization with a thriving community based in 179 countries around the world. Studying with ACCA guarantees support at every milestone of an accountant’s career - equipping them with skills and values needed which is important for our economy.
Mychke Gallego, partner and head of knowledge of P&A Grant Thornton Philippines, said ACCA is the world’s most forward-thinking professional accountancy body, with over 110 years of experience, innovation, and excellence. The graduate-level ACCA qualifications are the gold standard in accountancy, opening doors to highly respected work in any sector.
Gallego explained that ACCA’s Learning Partner (LP) Program enables global availability of effective and innovative course delivery and first-class student support. Achieving this provides formal recognition to P&A Grant Thornton as a leading learning provider in delivering global quality education and support for its students.
As a Silver Learning Partner, he said, P&A Grant Thornton can assist students in their journey to ACCA membership, as well as the current programs they are enrolled to. P&A Grant Thornton can also help manage the schedule of exams that the students will take, all the way to the CPDs to be submitted annually.
ACCA provides program offerings and qualification courses to polish and mold your skills and expertise in accounting and finance. Included in these programs are the ACCA certificate and diploma program offerings. Under this are the Foundations in Accountancy (FIA), which is a Diploma in Accounting and Business, focusing on the core skills of financial accounting and management accounting, and the accountant’s wider role in a business at higher levels.
FIA does not require minimum entry requirements and offers various entry points for students to select the most appropriate route to cater to their future career. When a student completes the Diploma in Accounting and Business, the student can choose to transfer to the ACCA Qualification proper or learn further to become a Certified Accounting Technician (CAT).
P&A Grant Thornton, in collaboration with ACCA, also offers a professional development program for teachers to boost their ABM teaching career. Teachers who choose this program will have exclusive access to a “train-the-trainer” workshop and a free access to an online support toolkit to better support their students. This combines virtual coaching sessions with P&A Grant Thornton professionals and access to ACCA study support resources which can help students pass exams and progress to their careers.
