Manila Bulletin

MB ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL

-

One hundred twentythree years is a long time, and it evokes the feeling of awe that the Manila Bulletin has stayed this long in its mission of documenting our journey as a nation.

This February 2, let me extend my personal congratulations and words of praise for the Bulletin’s continued service to the country and the Filipino people.

Through the years, the

Manila Bulletin has maintained its role as a beacon of true information and a catalyst towards the country’s progress and economic prosperity.

Keep on going!

Warm congratulations to all the people who have enabled the Manila Bulletin to continue serving the Filipino people for 123 years: the corporate officials and staff of the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation, the editors, columnists, reporters, deskmen, printers and everyone else involved in producing this respected Philippine paper!

Congratulations also for choosing “Sustainability” as this newspaper’s special anniversary theme for this year. How the Manila Bulletin has endeavored through the years to keep its title “The Nation’s Leading Newspaper” by maintaining its standards of fair reporting, keeping up with technological tools and trends in publishing and printing, and adapting its services to the changing needs of its readers is an excellent example of sustainable service in information dissemination in our country. I hope the articles on sustainability in this special supplement will move more Filipinos to support government’s programs for environmental protection and sustainable and fairlydistributed economic growth.

I wish the Manila Bulletin a hundred more years of productive work!

Former President of the Philippines
