Robin, Mariel apologize over ‘gluta drip’ issue

- By NEIL RAMOS

Senator Robin Padilla laughed off the social media storm his wife, Mariel Rodriguez-padilla, inadvertently created several days ago.

Apparently, the former action star considers the ruckus relating to the viral photo of Mariel having her scheduled “gluta drip” right inside his office, “funny.”

Robin shared his thoughts about it in a message he left in the Senate reporter's Viber group that has since been shared on news sites.

My goodness.”

"No intention of disrespect,” it went on. "My wife loves to promote good looks and good health. Natatawa talaga ako."

Mariel already deleted the controversial post by then.

She addressed the issue on Tiktok, Friday.

Just like her husband, she saw nothing wrong with what she did.

She is aware of her post offending some people.

She said, “So dahil may mga nagreact, kaya ko po tinake down yung post ko.

Not everyone is satisfied. Senator Nancy Binay, Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges Chair, harped on the issue in a TV5 report.

She said, “Nakaka-bother lang dahil yung IV procedure was done inside the Senate premises na walang abiso mula sa clinic.”

Nancy also mentioned how the Department of Health (DOH) has already deemed the procedure unsafe and that it is yet to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Some netizens are hoping she won't stop there, urging her to act on the matter.

Murky as it is, it could've been avoided had Mariel taken to heart this quote by former beauty queen Germany Kent: “Think before you click. If people do not know you personally and if they cannot see you as you type, what you post online can be taken out of context if you are not careful in the way your message is delivered.”
