Megaworld's Eastwood City to become the new home of Repertory Philippine­s

Eastwood City is poised to become the new home for Repertory Philippine­s, a Filipino theater company dedicated to showcasing English-language production­s. This decision follows a partnershi­p agreement between Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and Repertory Philippine­s, with the aim of transformi­ng Eastwood City into the entertainm­ent capital of the Philippine­s.

The contract signing, which took place on March 12 at the Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, was led by Repertory Philippine­s President Mindy Perez Rubio and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls' First Vice President and Head Graham Coates.

As part of the partnershi­p, a new theater will be establishe­d on the fourth floor of Eastwood Citywalk, covering an area of 1,400 square meters. Scheduled to open in October 2024, the theater will accommodat­e 500 seats, providing an intimate yet spacious setting for Repertory Philippine­s' production­s.

Coates emphasized their commitment to enhancing cultural experience­s and nurturing local talents through this collaborat­ion. He stated, “We are very honored to give Repertory Philippine­s its new home in Eastwood City through this landmark partnershi­p."

Coates highlighte­d the significan­ce of this move in reinforcin­g Eastwood City's status as a premier entertainm­ent and lifestyle destinatio­n, attracting both artists and enthusiast­s. Theater-goers will also have access to Eastwood City's diverse amenities, including global brands, retail outlets, and culinary offerings.

Eastwood City, spanning 18.5 hectares, is Megaworld’s lifestyle and entertainm­ent hub, renowned for its "live-work-play" concept. It is recognized as the Philippine­s’ first-ever cyberpark and has played a pivotal role in the growth of the country’s IT-BPO sector.
