Megaworld's Eastwood City to become the new home of Repertory Philippines
Eastwood City is poised to become the new home for Repertory Philippines, a Filipino theater company dedicated to showcasing English-language productions. This decision follows a partnership agreement between Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and Repertory Philippines, with the aim of transforming Eastwood City into the entertainment capital of the Philippines.
The contract signing, which took place on March 12 at the Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, was led by Repertory Philippines President Mindy Perez Rubio and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls' First Vice President and Head Graham Coates.
As part of the partnership, a new theater will be established on the fourth floor of Eastwood Citywalk, covering an area of 1,400 square meters. Scheduled to open in October 2024, the theater will accommodate 500 seats, providing an intimate yet spacious setting for Repertory Philippines' productions.
Coates emphasized their commitment to enhancing cultural experiences and nurturing local talents through this collaboration. He stated, “We are very honored to give Repertory Philippines its new home in Eastwood City through this landmark partnership."
Coates highlighted the significance of this move in reinforcing Eastwood City's status as a premier entertainment and lifestyle destination, attracting both artists and enthusiasts. Theater-goers will also have access to Eastwood City's diverse amenities, including global brands, retail outlets, and culinary offerings.
Eastwood City, spanning 18.5 hectares, is Megaworld’s lifestyle and entertainment hub, renowned for its "live-work-play" concept. It is recognized as the Philippines’ first-ever cyberpark and has played a pivotal role in the growth of the country’s IT-BPO sector.
