- By BETHEENA UNITE

President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-marcos have recovered from their flu-like symptoms, Malacañang said.

Marcos will resume his public duties on Tuesday, March 26, it added.

"The President and the First Lady have completely recovered from their flu-like symptoms and are now in excellent health," the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced on Monday afternoon.

"Their attending physician has confirmed that they are free from all symptoms, enabling them to promptly return to their regular duties, effective immediately," it added.

The PCO further said that the President has been in meetings on

Monday "and will resume his public duties tomorrow."

Marcos is expected to preside over a meeting on El Niño mitigation and meet with visitors from the United States and India at the Malacañan Palace on Tuesday.

It can be recalled that he and the First Lady developed flu-like symptoms on March 20 and were advised to get some rest. All public schedules of the President since then were cancelled.

Meanwhile, the President has wished Kate Middleton continued healing after the Princess of Wales revealed last week that she is undergoing treatment for cancer.

Marcos took to X (formerly Twitter) to send his well wishes for Middleton on Monday, March 25. He

replied under Middleton's video message posted on March 23.

"The Filipino people have Catherine, the Princess of Wales, in our thoughts and prayers throughout this challenging time," the President said.

"We pray for her good health and continued healing, and for the strength of her family during this difficult period," he added.

The Princess of Wales announced on Friday that she had cancer, and was in the early stages of chemotherapy.

In a video message, she asked for "time, space and privacy" as she completes her treatment.

While she did not disclose the exact nature of the cancer, Middleton said she "underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous."

"The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present," she said.
