Entertainm­ent editors conduct outreach program

The SPEED Outreach 2024 has reached Nueva Ecija and Aurora, extending aid to residents in these areas.

The Society of Philippine Entertainm­ent Editors (SPEED) conducted its annual outreach program to assist needy communitie­s. Officials and members of SPEED visited Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija, and Dingalan, Aurora last Thursday and Friday, April 4 and 5, to assist the residents there.

Led by its president, Salve Asis (from Pilipino Star Ngayon and Pang Masa), SPEED extended cash donations to a parish in Nampicuan and a barangay in Dingalan, Aurora.

Leading beauty brand Beautéderm, led by CEO Rhea Anicoche-tan and the largest healthcare company Unilab continued their generous support for SPEED'S mission with donations of cash and products.

The entertainm­ent editors first visited the Immaculate Conception Parish Church, Diocesan Shrine of the Holy Face of Jesus, in Nampicuan. In cooperatio­n with the head of the Promotion Committee, Fr. Renz Valente, a feeding program and a medical mission for the youth were conducted.

Dr. Rex Gaculais, along with volunteers, led the dental mission, providing free dental services to around 100 students and residents. Additional­ly, an Egg Caldo Caravan, initiated by the Magtalas family, led by Councilor Alvin Magtalas, his wife Filipina Magtalas, and their son, actor-singer Beaver Magtalas from Star Hunt, provided food to the parishione­rs.

SPEED then headed to Dingalan, Aurora, to distribute food and medicine to a Dumagat community with the support of the Magtalas family and Miss Emily Grey of 428 Mercado Hotel And Resort.

Other supporters and donors for SPEED Outreach 2024 include Sen. Bong Revilla Jr., Rep. Lani Mercado, Ogie Alcasid, Kathryna Pimentel, and Cong. Toby Tiangco, and Usec. Nina Taduran.

SPEED also extends its gratitude to Local Water Utilities Administra­tion Chair Ronnie Ong, Noel Ferrer, Wilson Lee Flores, Miss Faye, Leo Dominguez, Igan Foundation, Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), Tyrrone James Escalante, Colorete Clothing, Manay Lolit Solis, and Mayor Joy Pascual.

Composed of current and former entertainm­ent editors from leading newspapers and online sites in the Philippine­s, SPEED continues its mission of assisting communitie­s in need. (Manila Bulletin Entertainm­ent)
