'Running Man PH' races to season 2

- By CARISSA ALCANTARA

After a successful first season, the celebrity runners return for more exciting challenges in "Running Man Philippines" season 2.

Returning to the show beginning May 11 and 12 are Kapuso stars Mikael Daez, Glaiza De Castro, Lexi Gonzales, Buboy Villar, Kokoy De Santos, Angel Guardian, and the newest addition to this season’s runners, Miguel Tanfelix.

Glaiza, also known as "Boss G," admitted to being short-tempered during the second season.

"Feeling ko mas less yung pikon ko, pero may pikon pa rin kasi si Pirena ako. But siguro kaya naman ako napipikon kasi we really wanted to give our best, and nagmumula yun kasi natatakot ako not just because natalo ako sa mission. Natatakot ako na hindi ko magawa ng maayos yung gusto kong gawin kaya nafufrustrate ako sa sarili ko," Glaiza said during the media conference held at the GMA

Studio 7 in Quezon City.

(I am less short-tempered now but still get short-tempered because I'm Pirena. But maybe the reason why I feel this is because we wanted to give our best, and perhaps that short-tempered attitude came from me because I have this fear that I won't be able to do it regardless of winning the mission, but not doing the best I can is what frustrates me the most.)

Despite feeling tense on set and during the mission, Glaiza maintained a calm and respectful demeanor, avoiding any shouting matches.

"Hindi naman kami umaabot sa bangayan ng pagkapikon, siguro yung frustrations lang talaga yung nagpapatrigger sa amin kapag hindi namin nagagawa ng maayos yung mission," she added.

(We don't get to the point of fighting on set; perhaps our frustrations are triggered when we don't execute the mission correctly.)

When she was asked which runner got into her most, Glaiza truthfully answered Buboy.

"Kay Buboy ako pinaka-napikon, kasi kitang-kita ko yung determination niya, yung hindi talaga siya magpapatalo. Tapos yung strength niya rin kasi kakaiba. Kaya parang nakakabilib din minsan to see him play," she added. (Buboy got me fired all the time because I could clearly see his determination, the fact that he would never give up. Then his strength is also unique. That's why it's also impressive sometimes to see him play)

In this new season, the runners will brave the cold weather while exploring some of South Korea's most extraordinary locations, including Seoul, Gangwon, Gyeonggi, Mokpo, and Jeju Island. This promises

to deliver plenty of fun and good vibes for viewers in each episode.

Runners and celebrity guests will compete in 12 races under stone-cold weather. Fans should watch out for the iconic name tag challenge and games with an overarching theme, such as the Winter Olympics, haunted school, Korean military training, beauty pageant, prison break, and more.

Also much-awaited are this season’s celebrity guests who will surely add excitement to the chaos, including no less than Korean superstars Sandara Park, Nancy Mcdonnie, and Haha of Running Man Korea!

Pinoy pop stars Josh of SB19 and Unis members Gehlee and Elisa, Pinoy athletes Eric “Eruption” Tai and Mark Striegl, award-winning actress Alessandra de Rossi, and Kapuso stars Rochelle Pangilinan, Herlene Budol, Paul Salas, Archie Alemania, Michael Sager, and Bianca Umali are also joining in the fun this season. Original Pinoy runner Ruru Madrid also appears in the season for special participation.
