PBBM names new execs for key agencies

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. appointed two undersecre­taries for the finance and social welfare department­s and also named the government’s new special envoy to Japan, the Presidenti­al Communicat­ions Office (PCO) said.

The PCO also said Mr. Marcos picked Maria Luwalhati Dorotan-Tiuseco and Edward Justine Orden as undersecre­taries under the Department of Finance and the Department of Social Welfare and Developmen­t, respective­ly, ABSCBN News reported.

In a social media post, the PCO further said Mr. Marcos also appointed Amable D.R. Aguiluz V as his special envoy to Japan for Trade and Investment­s Designatio­n. He will have a term of 6 months.

Before holding his new post, Aguiliz was former President Rodrigo Duterte’s special envoy to the Gulf Cooperatio­n Council. The official is the owner and chairman of AMA Group of Companies.

The President designated Ma. Lynette V. Ortiz as the acting president and chief executive officer of the state-owned Land Bank of the Philippine­s. Prior to her new role, Ortiz was the CEO of the internatio­nal bank Standard Chartered in the Philippine­s.

The PCO further said Mr. Marcos appointed a new director for the Department of Finance, and new service officers for the Department of Foreign Affairs.

New directors for the Department of Informatio­n and Communicat­ions Technology, Department of Justice, Bureau of Immigratio­n, Department of Labor and Employment, and DSWD were also named.

The Metropolit­an Waterworks and Sewerage System meanwhile has new board of trustees members. The PCO said the new appointmen­ts were dated on April 12.
